What do you do when there's no track record to lean on? Start-ups, acquisitions, expansions, and businesses changing their model share one challenge: the numbers that matter haven't happened yet. No surprise lenders approach projections-based lending with caution, especially as SBA sharpens its focus on early defaults. The good news—it can be done well. This 3-hour interactive, in-person session unpacks SBA's requirements for projections, how to pressure-test assumptions, how to analyze working capital, and the best practices that separate a defensible projections-based loan from a risky guess.
Sharpen your skills in portfolio management in this interactive 3-hour workshop focused on 7(a) servicing actions and payment modifications. Using SOP 50 57 4 regulatory requirements, this session tackles real-world simple to complex servicing scenarios —from collateral-impacting actions to ownership changes and payment modifications. When analyzing workouts, you’ll learn to identify when a payment modification request can be structured into a “stay-in-business” workout. Through hands-on case studies, this session equips lenders with practical strategies for prudent, commercially reasonable risk mitigation.
When PLP lenders are authorized to make 7(a) loans, SBA expects them to know how to originate, process, close, service, liquidate, and litigate the loans in their 7(a) portfolio. What steps should a lender take to make sure they have a prudent closing process that is compliant with SBA requirements? This interactive 3-hour workshop takes a look at the loan closing process, and what prudent loan closing means and why it matters and will provide several scenarios for common issues and closing delays and how lenders can navigate those impediments to a smooth closing process.
